Entry into La Trobe University Degree programmes

Students who successfully complete any of the Diploma or Advanced Diploma courses offered by any of the above Colleges of the Academies Australasia Group will be eligible for admission to La Trobe University’s Bachelor of Business or Bachelor of International Business. Note that entry into the Bachelor of Business in Accounting also requires an overall average (including failed units) of 60% in a Diploma or Advanced Diploma .

English Language Waiver

International students who complete a Diploma or Advanced Diploma at any of the above Colleges of the Academies Australasia Group will be deemed to meet the English language requirements for entry into a La Trobe degree.

Advanced Standing

Students accepted into a degree program on the basis of a completed Diploma or Advanced Diploma from any of the above Colleges of the Academies Australasia Group will be eligible for credit.

A student completing a Diploma will be granted 4 units credit (equivalent to 1 semester). Generally, a student completing an Advanced Diploma will be granted 8 units credit (equivalent to 2 semesters) but this depends on the structure of the particular Advanced Diploma and the structure of the degree the student has selected. (The structure of the Accounting degree does not leave room for many electives and so 8 units credit cannot usually be given.)

TAFE NSW International Students Centre (ISC) will accept successful completion of the "EAP/IELTS Preparation" course at Academy of English for admission of international students into TAFE NSW for courses where an overall score of IELTS 5.5 or equivalent is required.

Students from the vocational colleges within the Academies Australasia Group of Colleges undertaking an Advanced Diploma must achieve an average passing grade (50% overall) within this qualification and must satisfy English language and mathematics requirements to be eligible for admission into the following UQ undergraduate programmes:

English Language Requirements

Successful students from the vocational colleges within Academies Australasia Group of Colleges seeking entry to The University of Queensland currently require any one of:

  • a paper based TOEFL 570 (with 5 in Writing)
  • a computer based TOEFL 237 (with 4.5 in Essay Rating)
  • a TOEFL Internet-based Test (iBT) 90 overall (with 21 in Writing).

Students who have successfully completed the Advanced Diploma of Information Technology (Network Security) conducted at any of the Academies Australasia colleges plus a minimum of 2 years relevant work experience in the ICT industry will be eligible for entry into the Master of Science in Computer Science.

This Master is offered at both the Victoria University Sydney campus, at the Education Centre of Australia (ECA) site in Kent Street Sydney, and the main Victoria University campus in Melbourne.

Students who complete our EAP and IELTS preparation programme with the equivalent of IELTS 6.0 or above may gain direct entry access to Victoria University, Sydney City Centre. Students who achieve the equivalent of IELTS 5.5 may gain direct entry to Zenith Business Academy.
